Christmas at The Mayfair Hotel

If you follow our instagram stories you will already have seen lots of videos and pictures of our recent stay at The Mayfair Hotel in London.

In case you missed it, long story short is it's the most wonderfully festive hotel. We really did get Kevin from Home Alone vibes with the huge Christmas trees at the front of the entrance, the beautiful window displays, and being in the heart of Mayfair we couldn't help but feel right in the thick of old school London, where every building is really grand and the whole experience felt very fairy tale-esque.

The staff at The Mayfair are all really friendly and couldn't do enough for you from check in to check out. It's the kind of service that you would remember for being exceptional if you're in and out of hotels a lot like us. 

We were hosting a screening of our BNTM episode at the hotel, and we had a private screening room, where we were brought cocktails...the only cocktail you now need to know about is named after the hotel, The Mayfair which is like a porn star martini but not quite as sharp, and went down a treat.

 

After the screening we headed downstairs to the private area of The Mayfair Bar, where our prosecco was consistently topped up by our own server (if you follow our stories you'll know we love a prosecco...)

The atmosphere was really electric in there, not just in our own area but throughout, and the great service meant the drinks were flowing and everyone just had a really good night. We were supposed to end the night at 11, but it was gone midnight by the time we'd actually got tired of all the fun, so continuing with the fairy tale theme we went to bed before we turned into pumpkins.

The following morning we had a gorgeous breakfast in The Mayfair Kitchen. There was basically everything you could possibly want, and an à la carte menu, but plenty of veggie and vegan options, delicious juices and fruits, and the soy flat white was definitely a much needed pick me up.

Much of our day after breakfast was spent walking around getting our bearings (we haven't really explored Mayfair before) but we found out we were really central if we wanted to walk towards Knightsbridge, Covent Garden, or Oxford Street. We headed towards Oxford St to shop, and it only took us 10 minutes to walk. 

For the evening, we were recommended cocktails in Sexy Fish, and dinner in Bocconcino. Both were really fabulous, Particularly Sexy Fish where everyone was really glam. Usually in London everyone edges more on the casual side, so it was lovely to people watch (with a cocktail) and take in the atmosphere which was really buzzy, before heading for lovely Italian food in Bocconcino. Theatmosphere was much more relaxed and a bit more traditional in style, lots of Italian families were in there enjoying a meal, which is when you know the food is good.

For our second night out in a row, we got our glam on in the Schiaparelli suite in The Mayfair, which couldn't be more Spectrum. A huge pink bed, full mini bar, giant central table which is plenty of room for hair and makeup, that is, if the massive bathroom isn't big enough! We put on a spotify play list and let Michael from Blow Ltd. work his magic on our locks.

To top the evening off we went to the after party for the Eva Longoria Global Gift Gala at the Corinthia, which we were fortunate enough to be invited to, and we also contributed to the goody bags which helped towards the cost of the tickets.

All the money raised goes towards The Eva Longoria Foundation, which helps Latinas build better futures for themselves and their families through education and entrepreneurship. We're all for women in business, and helping others to start their own is something we're really happy to help support.

So after the after party we headed back to The Mayfair and had the most comfortable nights sleep in our huge bed. Talk about Sleeping Beauty, she had nothing on us that night.

Thank you to The Mayfair for a wonderful weekend away in London, in a fabulous location and for unforgettable service. But mainly for making us feel both like princesses.
